About Us and how to contact us

Clive and Sue both share a passion for nature and have chosen this area because of its bio diversity. From high peaks to large lakes, orchards and arable land to Mediterranean scrub. We have spent the last 7 years exploring the wonders that Spain has to offer and will take great pleasure in sharing some of our discoveries with you here in the Sierra de Grazalema.

In earlier years, Sue trained extensively with horses. In 1984 she accompanied the British equestrian team at the Los Angeles Olympic games as a groom for the dressage competitors. Later training in physiotherapy and rehabilitation to further her equine knowledge.

With a keen interest for all aspects of the natural world and a wide knowledge of fauna and flora, Sue is an ideal companion for discovering the sierras.

Clive trained originally in zoological parks in the UK, working mostly on breeding projects for endangered bird species. Later becoming involved with environmental protection and management schemes in North Wales. After this came stone walling, tree surgery and landscape management.

Clive has an affinity with the natural world and is an enthusiastic guide both on and off the trail.

PRESS RELEASE AND TESTIMONIALS

Clive and Sue explored Spain for seven years before settling into a renovated mill house in a quiet rural area of olives and goat herds, part way between the picturesque white villages of Grazalema and Zahara de la sierra. The surrounding mountains, forests and lakes form the “Sierra de Grazalema Natural Park.” Recognized as one of Spain’s most ecologically outstanding areas, it was designated a UNESCO Biosphere reserve in 1977. In 1984 it became Andalusia’s first Natural Park.

The 13 villages within the park are steeped in history as shown by the Moorish and Roman remains. Local pre-historic cave paintings and Dolmens take us back still further. Clive and Sue both share a passion for nature and have chosen this area over many parklands for its biodiversity, from high peaks to lush valleys, olive groves to oak forests, Mediterranean scrub to azure lakes. Each of these areas create distinct habitats and are home to a diverse range of animal and plant life.

Their knowledge of the natural park and the fauna and flora within it make them ideal companions for discovering the sierras. Both trained in animal husbandry in the UK, Clive in zoological parks with breeding programs for endangered birds and Sue in the equestrian world in rehabilitation schooling and dressage.

They now offer stunning holidays with nature and cultural excursions of your choice, use of a four wheel drive, air conditioned car with driver and home cooked meals, prepared mainly from their own organic garden and orchard.

“I learned many things during my stay there. Not only has it increased my knowledge concerning biodiversity and conservation, but made me realise what I would like to do with my life. I am currently preparing to apply to a number of universities to study environmental management. Thank you Sue and Clive.”

Daniel Horn. (Liverpool)

“Staying here exceeded my expectations. Not only did I get some fantastic shots of wildlife but I learned a tremendous amount from my guides Clive and Sue.”

David Bryant. (Portsmouth)

“I’ve been lucky enough to travel extensively from Patagonia to New Zealand via Vietnam and Machu Picchu. I’m getting hard to impress but make no mistake, I was amazed by the beauty of the Sierra de Grazalema. I felt at home the moment I walked in to Clive and Sue’s old mill house. Their enthusiasm and knowledge of the Sierra is infectious and their sharp eyes found us all sorts of treasures to photograph, smell or view through their telescope.
