This photo is of an Iberian Black Redstart,  Phoenicurus ochruros subspecies aterrimus, it lacks the white wing bar of the European variation. The picture  was taken at the look out area of “Puerto de Las Palomas” near to Grazalema village.

Black Redstarts can be found both on mountain slopes up to 3000m and at lower altitudes where they favour ruins and unused buildings. Often perches on the high point of a building or rock and bobs constantly. From these vantage points they will fly to the ground to catch insects and spiders. Also eats berries and seeds.

Nest sites are in a hole in a wall , under roofs or in rocky and scree areas.
