The event takes place within the hot and open streets of Jerez de la Frontera, Thousands of Spaniards take great delight in riding up and down the main street, impeccably dressed a la Andaluz, and occasionally stopping off for a coffee or sherry.
Most equine aficionados come to the fair to witness the daunting feats that the Spanish purebreds and Andalusian thoroughbreds are capable of. Newcomers are always surprised at the sheer quality of the displays, from the packed programme of purebred, Arab and Anglo-Arab in-hand classes, doma vaquera and doma classica - known as cowboy and classical dressage respectively - to the show jumping and vaulting. |
